Konstantinos Kardakaris is a film & stage director and new media artist. He was born in Athens and holds a B.Sc. in Physics, Bachelor in Cinema, Theater Directing Diploma as a scholar from the Theater Directing Dept of the National Theater of Greece and a Master in Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age. He has worked in Athens & Epidaurus Festival, the National Theater of Greece, Onassis Cultural Center, Greek National Opera and in numerous TV and Cinema productions. He also curates film programs for festivals and institutions such as TIFF and the National Contemporary Art Museum of Greece. During the 74th Venice International Film Festival he was selected in the Jury team of the GdA award and he was the Greek Ambassador of the LUX European Film Prize. His short film “Oxytocin” premiered at the Competition Program of the 25th Athens International Film Festival and was screened in numerous international film festivals worldwide. He has participated in contemporary artistic residencies and open calls from major organisations including Cannes Film Festival, Onassis Tech & Innovation, Grotowski Institute, Greek National Opera, Europa Cinemas, Europe Media, EKKOMED etc.
